Job summary

The City of Mesa seeks an IT Engineer II to ensure high performance, availability, and security across network platforms supporting the Mesa Public Safety Support Department, Police, and Fire, including CAD systems. You will monitor, configure, and maintain critical network environments, and document changes for knowledge transfer.

You will apply expert knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, server OS, virtualization, and backup systems to meet availability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (Engineering or Geography by assignment).
• 3–5 years computer systems experience in Applications, Database, Desktop, GIS, Network, Security, Server, or Web Support.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform configuration, testing, integration, and problem resolution for city computer systems.
• Assess and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems using established guidelines for escalation.
• Document changes, prepare system documentation, and mentor staff.
