Job summary

One Book at a Time Publishing / The Print Site in Addison, TX seeks a production-focused Desktop Publishing role to train with the retiring artist and take over production workflows. Hybrid after training, with both full-time or part-time options and remote work available once settled into the workflow.

The candidate will preflight, build and impose files for digital printing, handle layouts, and coordinate with customers to resolve issues, while ensuring timely delivery of high-quality printed

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial printing, book production, prepress, or digital print production is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of bleeds, margins, color management, PDF workflows, typography, imposition, and printing processes.

Responsibilities

After nearly 30 years with our company, our longtime Desktop Publishing Manager is retiring. This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a key role with a well-established commercial printing and book manufacturing company.

The successful candidate will work directly with our retiring production artist during the transition, providing valuable hands-on training and the opportunity to learn every aspect of our workflow before taking over the position.

We specialize in high-quality custom books, commercial printing, and specialty finishing. Our work is challenging, varied, and rarely repetitive. Every project is different, and our clients expect exceptional quality delivered on demanding deadlines.

This is not a typical graphic design position. It is a production position where accuracy, organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail are just as important as creativity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer files for production

Work Arrangement

This position may be full-time or part-time, depending on the candidate.

Remote work is available after training and once you're comfortable with our workflow. During the transition period, regular time in our Addison facility will be required to learn our systems and work alongside our retiring production artist.

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
