DTJ DESIGN in Austin is seeking a seasoned Designer/Architect to lead projects from concept through documentation and delivery. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, guide clients, and mentor staff while advancing award‑winning work.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical detailing, and collaboration across architecture and planning disciplines in a dynamic, multi‑discipline firm setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
• 10+ years of relevant professional architectural experience
• Strong design and graphic skills
• Experience managing projects, consultants, and project documentation
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
• Working knowledge of building construction methods and technical detailing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Revit, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Licensed architect or actively pursuing professional licensure
• Experience with SketchUp or other 3D modeling software preferred

About the role:

As a Designer/Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of projects across DTJ's diverse portfolio while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative and impactful environments. Based in DTJ's Austin office, you will work closely with clients, consultants, project teams, and firm leadership to guide projects from concept through documentation and implementation. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who combines strong design capabilities with technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for building client relationships. You will have the opportunity to contribute to award-winning projects, support business development efforts, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth and success of the firm.
