Job summary

DTJ Design Inc in Austin seeks an experienced Designer/Architect to lead project design from concept through documentation and implementation, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative environments.

Based in DTJ's Austin office, you will manage clients, consultants, and project teams, applying strong leadership, technical detailing, and proven design skills to advance award-winning projects and firm growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• 10+ years of relevant professional architectural experience.
• Proven ability to lead projects, manage consultants, and build client relationships.
• Strong design, graphic, and communication skills.
• Licensed architect or actively pursuing licensure; SketchUp experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through construction documentation and project delivery.
• Manage project teams, consultants, and project deliverables.
• Develop and coordinate drawing sets, technical documentation, and project presentations.
• Collaborate with architecture, planning, and landscape teams to deliver integrated design solutions.

As a Designer/Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of projects across DTJ's diverse portfolio while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create innovative and impactful environments. Based in DTJ's Austin office, you will work closely with clients, consultants, project teams, and firm leadership to guide projects from concept through documentation and implementation. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who combines strong design capabilities with technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for building client relationships. Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from concept through construction documentation and project delivery.
• Manage project teams, consultants, and project deliverables.
• Develop and coordinate drawing sets, technical documentation, and project presentations.
• Collaborate with architecture, planning, and landscape architecture teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to project team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• 10+ years of relevant professional architectural experience.
• Strong design and graphic skills.
• Experience managing projects, consultants, and project documentation.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Working knowledge of building construction methods and technical detailing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Licensed architect or actively pursuing professional licensure.
• Experience with SketchUp or other 3D modeling software preferred.
