Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers is seeking a part-time Design Technologies Support specialist to assist with OpenRoads, OpenBridge, and ProjectWise. This role will install, configure, and troubleshoot software, manage user access, and coordinate with vendors to resolve issues across transportation design projects.

The ideal candidate will have Civil Engineering knowledge, strong communication, and experience documenting workflows and training materials for staff and external users.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of civil engineering practices and principles related to roadway design.
• Experience with CAD software and design tools.
• Proficiency in creating user-focused documentation and job aids.
• Familiarity with software support and helpdesk processes.

Responsibilities

• Design Technologies Support: serve as the technical support resource for CADD software applications (Bentley OpenRoads, OpenBridge, ProjectWise).
• Helpdesk Support: manage and maintain support requests, diagnose issues, and ensure timely resolution.
• Perform duties as assigned and contribute to ongoing projects.
• Technical Development: create training materials, manuals, and presentations; keep docs updated.
• Vendor Coordination: engage with software vendors to resolve issues and discuss updates.
