Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled OpenRoads Designer Civil Software Specialist with advanced expertise in Bentley OpenRoads Designer. This role is ideal for a technical expert who excels in applying, configuring, and supporting advanced design tools for civil infrastructure projects. You’ll work directly with design teams to implement, customize, and support Bentley-based solutions for roadway, site, and civil projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Implementation & Configuration
  Set up, configure, and support OpenRoads Designer environments to align with civil engineering project requirements and standards.
• Design Workflow Support
  Provide expert guidance and technical support for workflows involving geometry, terrain modeling, corridors, templates, drainage, utilities, and 3D modeling.
• User Enablement & Training
  Deliver targeted training sessions, one-on-one mentoring, and best-practice documentation to help engineers and designers work efficiently within the Bentley CONNECT Edition environment.
• Standards & WorkSpaces
  Develop, maintain, and deploy CAD standards, WorkSpaces, feature definitions, levels, and annotation settings to ensure consistency and compliance across projects.
• Technical Problem Solving
  Diagnose and resolve software-related design challenges, file issues, WorkSpace configuration problems, and performance concerns.
• Collaboration
  Work closely with civil engineers, designers, and technical staff to ensure effective and consistent use of Bentley tools across active projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct experience using Bentley OpenRoads Designer in civil engineering projects (e.g. transportation, land development, or municipal infrastructure).
• Strong working knowledge of roadway design, grading, drainage, utilities, and terrain modeling.
• Proven ability to deliver OpenRoads projects and plansets.
• Experience supporting production teams or providing internal CAD/BIM support in a consulting or engineering environment.
• Excellent communication skills — able to clearly explain technical concepts to engineers and designers of all experience levels.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D is a plus, but not required.
