Job summary

Ramp is seeking a Design Systems Lead to embed judgement into Ramp’s foundations. You will guide architecture, prototypes, and patterns so designers, engineers, and agents build coherent experiences at scale.

You’ll drive a team that raises design quality, explores new system concepts beyond components, and partners with AI teams to strengthen workflows. Relocation to NYC or SF is supported for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design or design engineering teams and setting direction.
• Exceptional visual and interaction design with a clear point of view.
• Deep systems thinking and adoption of design systems by other teams.
• Strong technical fluency to prototype and discuss front-end architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the design systems team with clear priorities and outcomes.
• Own the system’s vision and direction based on builder and customer needs.
• Elevate Ramp’s visual and interaction design, including typography and motion.
• Make design judgment usable by people and agents through reusable patterns and guidance.
• Guide architecture with engineering and ensure tradeoffs between flexibility and coherence.
