Job summary

Delmarva Power & Light Co. is seeking a design supervisor to lead a team of designers and drafters across transmission and substation projects. You will ensure designs meet standards and coordinate with management to deliver reliable, compliant engineering outputs.

The role requires 4–7 years in utility design and 2–3 years of supervisory experience, with strong leadership and communication skills. A relevant engineering degree is preferred, and the position supports growth in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• 4-7 years design experience in the Utility industry or equivalent external experience.
• 2-3 years internal supervisory experience or equivalent rating.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Broad knowledge of company, department policies, objectives, strategies, and goals; applicable governmental laws and regulations.
• Strong communication, consensus building and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and direction to diverse disciplines within the department to meet safety, reliability and performance goals.
• Balance day-to-day operations with policy and tactical planning; make decisions affecting design activities.
• Ensure adherence to company standards, policies and procedures by the team.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations across the workforce.
• Evaluate performance and coach for improvement; conduct annual appraisals.
• Manage scheduling with Work Management and coordinate contractor interfaces.
