Job summary

Pepco in Baltimore is seeking an experienced Engineering Design Supervisor to lead a team of designers and drafters. The role focuses on ensuring designs meet standards and coordinating with Asset Performance and Investment Strategy teams to support reliability and capacity expansion.

The position emphasizes safety, performance, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities across transmission and substation projects, staff development, and budget management. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years design experience in the Utility industry or equivalent external experience
• 2-3 years internal supervisory experience or receive acceptable rating on Supervisory Assessment
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Broad knowledge of company, department policies, objectives, strategies, and goals; applicable governmental laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communication, consensus building, and multi-tasking.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervise, influence and execute with urgency in a changing environment

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and direction to diverse and/or specialized disciplines with significant operational/financial impact (30%).
• Balance day-to-day operations with policy and tactical planning (20%).
• Ensure adherence to company standards, policies and procedures by workgroups (10%).
• Enforce safety rules and regulations (10%).
• Evaluate performance, coach for improvement, and conduct appraisals (10%).
• Schedule work with Work Management and monitor staff (5%).
• Coordinate training for department and promote continuous learning (5%).
• Develop and maintain high-performance culture and promote diversity/inclusion (5%).
