Job summary

Pottery Barn, a Williams-Sonoma, Inc. brand, seeks an Assistant Manager of Design to support the store leadership team in achieving business goals and delivering exceptional service on the sales floor.

You will lead daily clienteling, oversee the design team development, provide training, and ensure visual standards align with brand guidelines across the store. This role emphasizes coaching, collaboration with design staff, and delivering a premier customer experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills.
• Strong critical thinking to identify challenges and develop action plans.
• Proven ability to provide constructive feedback.
• Strong time management and ability to juggle priorities.
• 2-3 years of retail sales or customer-service management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team to create an exceptional customer and team experience.
• Coach in the moment to reinforce customer service principles.
• Meet with design team weekly to address opportunities and maximize designer productivity.
• Educate team on product and selling skills to meet sales and service goals.
• Maintain a positive environment aligning with People-First Philosophy.
• Participate in seasonal floor sets and maintain visual standards; execute time-bound tasks.
• Ensure timely resolution of client service issues using client information reporting system.
