Design Specialist (Construction)

PrimaryResponsibilities

• Usingcomputer aided drafting, prepares complicated concrete formwork layout drawings for assigned projects.
• Responsible for the design and detailing of forming systems.
• Reviews and analyzes the project documents and identifies drawing and specification conflict, insufficient information, and missing dimensions while contributing ideas to enhance project productivity and cost-efficiency.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs and estimates as required at an advanced level.
• Evaluates and coordinates material requirements with field supervisors to ensure availability and efficient utilization of equipment on assigned projects.
• Ensures duplication and delivery of up-to-date drawings and instructions to the job site.
• Records, updates, and maintains RFI, Product Submittal, and drawing logs.
• Ensures efficient inventory control and storage of shop drawings and contract documents.
• Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent work experience plus fiveyears of experience performing similar primary responsibilities.
• Strong mathematical and visualization skills
• Advanced PC skills, specifically in a Windows environment, including collecting and analyzing data in Excel and creating documents and preparing correspondence in Outlook and Word
