Design Specialist (Construction)

Since 1912, we have grown into the nation's largest concrete subcontractor, completing over 200 projects annually, each exceeding 20 million gross square feet.

Primary Responsibilities

• Using computer-aided drafting, prepare complex concrete formwork layout drawings for assigned projects.
• Design and detail forming systems.
• Review and analyze project documents to identify conflicts, insufficient information, and missing dimensions; contribute ideas to improve productivity and cost-efficiency.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and estimates at an advanced level.
• Coordinate material requirements with field supervisors to ensure availability and efficient use of equipment.
• Distribute up-to-date drawings and instructions to the job site.
• Maintain logs for RFI, Product Submittals, and drawings.
• Manage inventory control and storage of shop drawings and contract documents.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting or equivalent work experience, plus five years of relevant experience.
• Strong mathematical and visualization skills.
• Proficiency in PC skills within a Windows environment, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
