Job summary

DASNY (Dormitory Authority - State of New York ) seeks a Design Manager to lead design project management and construction observation for complex projects, ensuring conformance with DASNY and customer agency guidelines. You will review architectural and engineering plans, coordinate with clients and consultants, and provide technical guidance to staff and clients.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Architecture, NYS licensure, and 5+ years of relevant experience, including supervision.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture; five+ years of architectural experience in building/construction; two years supervisory experience.
Licensed NYS Architect preferred; five+ years post-license experience in higher ed and/or health care facilities.

Responsibilities

Manage project development during pre-design and design phases, coordinate with clients and consultants, and supervise consultant contracts.
Perform site visits to monitor design and construction quality by architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.
Review technical designs, plans, specifications, addenda and change orders; assess reports and studies.
Provide technical recommendations to project and client staff; liaise with DASNY and regulatory agencies.
