Job summary

IPS, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Design Project Engineer I to join the Blue Bell, PA team. You will provide technical leadership for multidisciplinary design efforts across lifecycle, ensuring compliance with standards and project objectives while coordinating input from architects, engineers, and vendors.

The role requires at least 7 years in engineering project roles, familiarity with BIM tools (Navisworks), and knowledge of codes. Some travel may be required as projects dictate.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive engineering experience in technical project roles.
• Experience in the AEC, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University or College in Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in engineering design programs and BIM tools e.g., Navisworks.
• General knowledge of system design and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coordination for multidisciplinary design projects across lifecycle.
• Ensure design compliance with safety, quality, client design guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Develop project equipment list and coordinate input across disciplines.
• Lead and facilitate regular design coordination and reviews.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, design assist contractors, BIM teams, contractors, and vendors to meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor design content and progress for quality, schedule, and budget.
• Support change management with design change notices including scope, hours, and schedule.
• Assist in estimating to complete and respond to RFIs with timely design revisions.
• Review vendor submittals and project cost estimates.
