Job summary

East Penn Manufacturing Company, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer and Process Engineer I to design battery components and tooling under mentorship.

You will interface with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to develop processes and support diversified products and equipment. The role requires collaboration across departments, traveling up to 25%, and ability to translate concepts into manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Typically, with less than 5 years of Engineering experience.
• Experience with the manufacturing processes preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, H&S, sales, costing, and maintenance.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to management, customers and vendors.
• Contribute to concept generation and ideation processes.
• Travel worldwide for the company as required (possibly up to ~25%).
• Interface with internal and external customers to develop new processes.
• Create, maintain, and update published technical information.
• Support daily operations of the existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Track process performance to meet EPM and customer performance and safety requirements.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to processing, tooling, robots, and machines.
• Help bring products from idea to proof of concept and final manufacturable product.
• Provide improvement concepts for manual and automated processes.
• Assist in design, development, integration, and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and instrumentation.
• Validate new molds and equipment.
• Develop process specifications, setup sheets, and procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Attend industry related technical conferences, seminars, and/or trade shows.
• May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical equipment and tooling.
• Perform calculations and tests on products, equipment, and tooling as directed by a senior engineer.
• Provide ordering/purchasing of tooling from vendors.
