Job summary

East Penn Manufacturing - Deka Batteries is seeking a Design Engineer I to design battery components, tooling, and production equipment under mentorship. You will support injection molding design and tooling development while driving continuous improvement and product feasibility studies.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in engineering, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with CAD tools. Travel may be required for technical conferences and collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or scientific discipline.
• Typically, with less than 5 years of Engineering experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
• CAD experience in 2D and 3D (CREO).

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, H&S, Sales, Costing, and Maintenance on automotive products, equipment, and tooling.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations to management, customers, vendors, and partners.
• Contribute to concept generation and ideation processes.
• Interact with production and engineering at all levels.
• Travel worldwide for the company as required (approx. 5 days per year).
