Job summary

Chipotle Mexican Grill is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design and construction documentation for new restaurants in a defined geographic market. You will oversee consultants, evaluate zoning and building code requirements, and ensure layouts meet Chipotle's standards for kitchen and dining areas.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years retail design and 5+ years project management in architecture/construction, plus proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and MS Office.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Architecture or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with successful retail design and 5 years of technical and project management experience in architecture/construction.
• Knowledge of building codes, sustainable practices, and ability to use PC-based design tools (MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp).

Responsibilities

• Initiate project file setup and coordinate data dissemination to consultants.
• Manage architect and engineer consultants and prepare the initial design package.
• Develop preliminary layouts and elevations for kitchens and dining spaces and secure approvals from leadership.
• Oversee construction documents and transition designs to operations/construction administration.
• Establish and maintain design schedules for multiple new restaurants across stages.
