Job summary

Chipotle Mexican Grill is seeking a Design Manager to lead architectural design and documentation for new restaurant builds in a defined market. You will collaborate with real estate and construction teams to deliver compliant layouts, elevations, and specifications within budget and timelines.

The role requires an architecture degree and multi-year experience in retail/design, proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp, and strong project-management skills.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Architecture or equivalent education is required/essential.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with successful retail design and 5 years in architectural design or construction administration.
• Proficiency with PC and software including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Initiate project file setup and coordinate data with consultants; prepare the Kick Off Package and on-site reports.
• Evaluate zoning, planning regulations, building code deficiencies and related landlord rules during due diligence.
• Develop preliminary kitchen and dining layouts; create elevations and details for approvals by leadership.
• Manage, review, and approve construction documents and transition projects to operations or construction administration.
• Establish and manage schedules for design and documentation of multiple new restaurants across development stages.
• Maintain close communication with Operations partners throughout the store development process.
