Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Design Manager in Austin, TX to lead Critical Facilities projects from concept through delivery. You will be the main client contact, guiding design and delivery while mentoring junior staff to ensure high-quality design and client satisfaction.

With 10+ years of experience, you will manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with consultants, and drive project success while maintaining budgets and schedules. This in-person role is based in the Austin area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, mix of architecture and project management preferred.
• Professional license or certification preferred, but not required.
• Experience with the full project lifecycle.
• High level of design competence with knowledge of building codes.
• Proven ability to provide excellent client service and account leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture positive relationships with existing client contacts and optimize opportunities.
• Manage day-to-day delivery of projects ensuring on-time, on-budget results.
• Lead and facilitate the cross-functional project team.
• Prepare, communicate, and monitor project work plans, budgets, and deliverables.
• Review proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements.
• Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape) and ensure documentation.
