Design for Test- Technical Lead
Location
  • Onsite in Carlsbad, CA or Allentown, PA
  • Must work PST Hours
Role Overview

We are seeking experienced, lead-caliber ASIC DFT consulting engineers. In this role, you will be a Design for Test-Technical Lead with a primary focus on Design-for-Test. You will develop and implement DFT features to ensure high-quality, testable, and manufacturable designs, contributing to the full product cycle from pre-silicon design to post-silicon debug and production qualification. You will collaborate across multiple teams, leading debugging and root cause analysis of silicon failures to improve yield and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Hardware Design-for-Test (DFT) features, including scan, mbist, BISR, and boundary scan.
  • Set up and debug DFT simulations and support post-silicon testing and debug.
  • Develop innovative DFT IP in collaboration with multi-functional teams and integrate testability features into the RTL.
  • Participate in creating innovative Hardware DFT and physical design aspects for new silicon device models.
  • Drive re-usable test and debug strategies for bare die and stacked die configurations.
  • Craft solutions and debug with minimal mentorship.
Required Qualifications
Education

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required.

Experience

A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience is required. This includes experience with Jtag protocols, Scan and BIST architectures (including memory BIST and boundary scan), and integrating 3rd party IP and high-speed digital/analog macros. Candidates must have hands-on experience with post-silicon debug of DFT patterns (scan, mbist, boundary scan) and release to production on at least one project.

Technical Skills

Experience with ATPG and EDA tools such as Tessent tool sets, Xcelium, Genus, and Tempus/Primetime is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong ability to establish or refine and train teams on DFT methodologies, from the design phase to high-volume production.
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a system-level understanding of networking and photonic solutions.
