Job summary

Pref-Tech is seeking a Design Estimator II to support the Sales team in constructing estimates for assigned projects according to our estimation standards. This role collaborates with Sales, Project Managers, and on-site teams, and may involve on-site client visits.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in estimating or field work in security integration, strong blueprint-reading, and effective communication; certification goals include Genetec, Hanwha, DMP/Bosch, and Axis within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience in security integration industry required.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Ability to review and interpret blueprints.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience and confidence with public speaking and presenting to audiences.
• Ability to hold others accountable to completing their assigned tasks.
• Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills.
• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
• Hold Genetec, Hanwha, DMP/Bosch and Axis certifications within 6 months of hire (company provided).
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Bluebeam (Revu) preferred.
• Fluency with Microsoft Office 365 software tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and assume accountability for assigned sales projects and sales tasks.
• Meet regularly with Sales Team Members and Project Managers to determine and prioritize the company’s design estimation needs.
• Be able to present designs to Sales Team Members, Operations, and to the end user as needed
• Go on site visits to determine customer needs, with or without Sales Team Members.
• Enter high security areas which may require immediate background checks.
• Continuously develop sales & design skills & certifications.
