Job summary

Prime Secured is seeking a Senior Project Estimator to lead the estimating team, shape processes and standards, and drive accurate proposals for security projects.

The role requires deep understanding of physical security products and solutions, plus labor cost analysis, to ensure time, material, and cost are identified.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with Sales and Engineering, work with vendors, and support large-scale projects from walkthroughs to bids.

Description

The Senior Project Estimator is responsible for overseeing and leading the estimating team including processes and standards that are needed. The position requires deep understanding of Physical Security discipline (both products and solution) and labor cost analysis. This position will be preparing proposals and collaborating closely with Sales and Engineering team to ensure time, material and costs are all identified and accounted for.

Requirements

Major Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage and lead estimating team, processes and standards.?
• Review proposals prepared by the team to ensure expectations are met - both internally and externally.?
• Collaborate and maintain working relationships with Sales, PMs, Engineers and Vendors.
• Conduct research and analysis to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
• Create and maintain estimating standards and scorecards.?
• Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to review products, sourcing and pricing.?
• Maintain and manage healthy workload balance for Estimating team.?
• Research, design and build estimates to fit the requirements (based on walkthroughs, specs or bids).?
• Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.?
• Markup floorplans for equipment placing and pathways.?
• Research various technology solutions to evaluate best use case scenarios.?
• Manage pricing from various vendors and manufacturers.?
• Ensure timely completion of estimates.?
• Assist sales team in final project preparation transactions.?
• Provide product demos and consultations as needed.?
• Ensure company policies and standard practices are followed.?
• Work in partnership with the Sales, Project Management and Engineering team on larger scale projects.?
• Ensure departmental daily records and other management tools are maintained and accurate.?
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.?

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the security industry.?
• Must have strong understanding of current products and solutions available.?
• Ability to read blueprints is required.?
• Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.?
• Must be able to work on fast paced projects and work environment.?
• Must be detail oriented.?
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work and be successful with limited supervision.?
• Experience with low voltage wiring and knowledge of the aspects of security equipment (cameras, maglocks, panels, etc.) installation is required.?
• Must have a good understanding of strike wire, data cabling, connectors, door contacts, hardware, and installation of cameras and software.?
• Must understand the fundamentals of electricity including relay logic circuits.?
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel to regional job sites.?
• Must have very strong customer service skills.?
• Good judgment is required.?

• Probationary period of 90 days.
• Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY not be hired.

• Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Individual must be able to pass a drug and physical screening as well as background requirements.?
