Job summary

SharkNinja in Needham, MA, is seeking a Design & Engineering Co-op for Jan–Jun 2027. You will work full-time onsite, contributing to early-stage prototypes and hardware/software integration with a cross-functional team.

This hands-on role involves building and testing concepts for next-generation Shark and Ninja products. You will engage in ECAD design, prototyping, and verification activities, while learning from engineers and designers in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes impactful,

Qualifications

• Current student in a related bachelor’s or master’s program or graduated within the past year.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours/week onsite in Needham, MA.
• Exposure to motor control, sensor integration, embedded microcontrollers, battery management, signal amplification, switching power supplies.
• Working knowledge of C/C++ for microcontroller applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with prototyping tools and quick-turn physical models is a bonus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Comfortable supporting software/firmware testing and development (experience a plus).
• Strong understanding of core physical and electrical engineering principles.
• Clear communication of technical ideas; translate concepts into tangible outcomes.
• Able to quickly develop visual/physical representations of new concepts.
• Curious, creatively driven, and eager to apply innovation and technical depth.
• Collaborative, fast-paced, hands-on team player eager to learn from a high-performing engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of concepts and technologies for next-gen Shark and Ninja products.
• Support design/evaluation of early-stage prototypes using ECAD, simulation software, and breadboards.
• Build test fixtures and execute verification/validation plans for feasibility and performance.
• Refine designs for manufacturability, cost, and user experience with cross-functional teams.
• Apply creativity and engineering rigor to elevate product quality.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions shaping product direction.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and reduce production costs.
• Engage in fast-paced development cycles; contribute from day one.
• Gain exposure to SharkNinja’s innovation process from idea to validation.
