Job summary

Ecolab is seeking an experienced Design Engineer for the Global High Tech (GHT) team. The role focuses on process design, technical solution development, proposal engineering, and engineering support for industrial water and wastewater projects for high-tech customers.

You will prepare process designs and technical proposals, support project execution, and collaborate with commercial, engineering, and operations teams to deliver reliable, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience with design and supporting the sale of water and/or wastewater equipment and systems for industrial clients.
• Education: Chemical/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Experience supporting project execution, commissioning, start-up or delivery of industrial process projects.
• Familiarity with water treatment plant commissioning and start-up.
• Fluency in English; French/Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Functionally report to the GHT Engineering Manager within Commercial Engineering.
• Be based in France or Spain with regular contact to supervisor.
• Design water treatment systems including mass balance, flowsheets, equipment costing for commercial discussions.
• Review engineering drawings (P&ID, GA, isometrics) and electrical/automation drawings.
• Analyze water/wastewater systems from mechanical, operational and chemical perspectives and propose compliant solutions.
• Support clients and Nalco teams to identify project needs and develop specifications.
• Supervise site surveys, conception and basic design ensuring best OPEX/CAPEX balance.
• Ensure budget fit and discuss issues with peers/manager during execution.
• Communicate with customers, contractors and internal teams at multiple levels.
• Maintain OM contracts for troubleshooting and improvements.
• Be aware of international standards and safety/environmental regulations.
