Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Design Engineer to drive continuous improvement of utility equipment across the product lifecycle. You will develop design enhancements that boost performance, reliability, quality, safety, and cost while collaborating with cross-functional teams to satisfy customers.

You will create and refine mechanical designs (sheet metal, assemblies) using SolidWorks, support new product development, and apply FEA for design robustness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering is required.
• At least 1 year of experience using SolidWorks (internships or projects allowed).
• Proficiency in mechanical design of components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for utility equipment across the product lifecycle.
• Develop and implement design enhancements to optimize functionality and manufacturability.
• Refine mechanical designs, including sheet metal components, using CAD tools.
• Support new product development from concept to production release.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Service, Supply Chain, and Product Management.
• Provide engineering support during testing and validation of prototypes.
• Use FEA and other tools to improve design robustness.
• Document design changes and maintain engineering records.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and mentorship.
