Job summary

H. T. PROF Group is seeking a Design Engineer for our Memphis, TN area client in the electric power sector. You will design and develop new products for the electric utility market and oversee engineering activities for existing products.

Responsibilities include creating part and assembly drawings, evaluating specs, performing feasibility and FEA, developing prototypes, and supporting field sales with technical insights.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent degree required.
• 2–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or ProE).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (casting, molding, machining, extrusion, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop new product part and assembly designs, drawings and specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet the technical and functional requirements.
• Review and analysis of proposed product changes.
• Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and calculations.
• Manage prototype development and testing.
• Facilitate creation and approval of Engineering drawing changes.
• Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures.
• Write test reports for both internal use and for publication.
• Work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure project milestones are met and that projects are completed according to established timelines.
• Technical support for Field Sales personnel
