Job summary

Actalent, a global leader in engineering and sciences services, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to create and update detailed mechanical designs, support production and logistics tooling, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will work with on-site manufacturing engineers, use AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 2D/3D work, and maintain 3D printers to ensure reliable output.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D drawings.
• Strong experience with SolidWorks for 3D design.
• Experience with 3D printing and additive manufacturing.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
• Experience supporting production and logistics tooling design.

Responsibilities

• Create and update AutoCAD drawings following CAD standards.
• Develop 3D models to support production and logistics needs.
• Revise drawings based on references and discussions with engineers.
• Maintain and troubleshoot 3D printers for reliable output.
• Design tooling, carts, and fixtures for production and ergonomics.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve safety and efficiency.
• Support lean events and kaizen activities on the shop floor.
