Job summary

Kier Design are seeking a Design Engineer to join their Construction Engineering team. The role involves contributing to temporary works design and checking, supporting tender activities, and delivering innovative, buildable solutions across diverse projects.

Based in the UK with hybrid working options, you will provide technical expertise, engage in value engineering, and help shape award-winning bids while developing professionally within Kier's engineering community.

Qualifications

• IEng Initial Professional Development or equivalent.
• Level 6 or Level 7 qualification with demonstrable experience.
• Full driving licence.
• Experience in temporary works design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to temporary works design and checking, integrated with permanent works design.
• Supporting tender and bid winning activities including outline design schemes and feasibility studies.
• Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance competitive position.
• Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third party designs to ensure compliance.
• Providing technical expertise and advice, acting as a centre of engineering excellence.
