Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Stratford, CT seeks a Senior Design Engineer to design major components of functional systems and advance prototypes through manufacturing interfaces.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, verify layouts for standards compliance, and employ GD&T and model-based definitions to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD system is required
  • Experience developing technical solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and creativity
  • Experience conducting research, creating basic design models and assist in design evaluations
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing for manufacturing fit and function

Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience conducting research, creating basic design models and assist in design evaluations
  • Experience using the application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing for manufacturing fit and function
Desired Skills
  • Experience in design of metallic and composite airframe structures
  • Experienced in Drawing/Drafting skills
  • Proficient in design of composite airframe structure and use of composite ply development tools such as CPD
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Proficient in Model Based Definition
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles, materials science and load analysis
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
