Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Booster/All Up Round (AUR) to be the primary mechanical engineering point of contact for ARRW LRIP and Incremental development, translating requirements into releasable TDPs.

You will develop CREO and Catia layouts, build BOMs in Windchill PLM, coordinate with IPT teams and suppliers, manage drawings/releases, and support transition to production. Travel may be required; strong GD&T and 3D CAD experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and industry practices.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 and system-level tolerance analysis.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Creo or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications.
  • Ability to lead major projects with cross-functional and multi-site teams.
  • Experience designing metallic and composite detail parts and assemblies.

Standard Job Description

As the Mechanical Engineer for the Booster/All Up Round ("AUR") you will be the primary mechanical engineering point of contact for ARRW LRIP and ARRW Incremental development. You will work closely with Glider mechanical engineering, AUR electrical engineering, and systems engineering to translate requirements into releasable technical data packages (TDPs). Your responsibilities will include:



  • Developing and generating CREO and Catia layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles

  • Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM

  • Coordinating the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence, including occasional travel for site visits and field demonstrations

  • Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews

  • Participate in root cause and corrective actions

  • Supporting transition from development to low rate production, ensuring seamless hand off


Basic Qualifications


  • Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.

  • Minimum 5 years experience with Creo or similar 3D computer-aided design software

  • Have the ability to generate engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications

  • Have the ability to guide major projects to completion and engage with senior personnel on significant matters, including multi-functional and multi-site teams

  • Have the ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to senior personnel

  • Experience designing metallic and composite detail parts and assemblies


Desired Skills


  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Creo and Windchill and/or Catia V5.

  • Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).

  • Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency ("RF") sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems.

  • Comprehensive understanding of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment.

  • Supplier management experience.

  • Experience leading engineering teams including daily tasking of 2-3 individuals


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
