Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Design Engineer 3 for the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit to design, engineer, integrate, operate and maintain electronic security services for federal, local, and commercial customers. You will work on intrusion, access control, biometrics, video, and IT systems across high-growth markets.

The role requires a technical degree and 5+ years of experience; travel is limited (roughly 2 weeks per year). Competitive salary and strong benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical/engineering field.
• 5+ years progressive engineering experience with Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience with electronic security and IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and develop designs meeting customer needs.
• Plan ESS/security site surveys across project phases.
• Develop Engineering Installation Design Packages in AutoCAD.
• Create project and device schedules within packages.
• Prepare PV/test plans and PITCO activities.
• Support system programming, integration testing, and equipment builds.
• Compute power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing, bandwidth analyses.
• Draft sequences of operations and compliance matrices.
• Apply NEC/NFPA/UL/ICD/NISPOM guidelines in design work.
• Participate in new technology evaluations and client meetings.
