Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Design Engineer 1 for its Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit. You will help design, engineer, integrate, operate and maintain electronic security services for federal, local and commercial customers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance. You will participate in site surveys, prepare design packages in AutoCAD, and support testing, installation and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering discipline.
• 0+ years of progressive engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with electronic security and IT systems desired.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and routing/switching.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors and peers; AutoCAD familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requirements and assess design constraints to meet customer needs.
• Plan and participate in ESS and physical security system site surveys.
• Develop Engineering Installation Design Packages with diagrams and mounting details.
• Create project/device schedules and PVT plans.
• Support PITCO processes including system programming and integration testing.
• Compute power, heat, voltage drop, conduit sizing and bandwidth.
• Assist with sequence of operations and compliance matrices.
• Interface with customers to present design solutions and address questions.
