Job summary

Superior Industries in Columbus, NE seeks a Design Engineer to coordinate design and development for bulk material processing equipment. You will create detailed drawings and bills of materials, perform design analysis, and implement design changes to meet customer and project standards.

Required a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering, solid understanding of drafting standards, tolerances, and power transmission, plus proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or related field.
• Experience with drafting standards, tolerances, and dimensioning.
• Knowledge of shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis.
• Strengths of materials and structural analysis understanding.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.

Job Description

A Design Engineer is responsible for completing the following duties:

• Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
• Design and detail custom conveying equipment
• Perform design analysis for components
• Create detail drawings
• Complete bills of material
• Evaluate and implement design changes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or related education
• Thorough understanding of:
  • Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
  • Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, ratios
  • Shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis
  • Strengths of materials and structural analysis
  • ASD steel design code
• Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
