Job summary

Superior Industries in Columbus, Nebraska, is seeking a Design Engineer to coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates. The role includes designing conveying equipment, performing design analysis, and preparing bills of materials.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software, along with a strong grasp of drafting standards and power

Qualifications

  • SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software experience.
  • Understanding of drafting standards, tolerances and mechanical power relationships.

Job Description

A Design Engineer is responsible for completing the following duties:

  • Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
  • Design and detail custom conveying equipment
  • Perform design analysis for components
  • Complete bills of material
  • Evaluate and implement design changes
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, AgriculturalEngineering or related education
  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
    • Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, ratios
    • Shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis
    • Strengths of materials and structural analysis
    • ASD steel design code
  • Training and/or experience in using SolidWorksor similar 3D CAD software
