Job summary

Superior Industries in New Mexico is seeking a Design Engineer I to join the mechanical design team in Belen. You will contribute to the full product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing, creating robust drawings and BOMs for crushing equipment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs, perform analyses, run prototypes, and implement design changes that meet customer needs and production requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with mechanical design in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to create manufacturable designs and accurate drawings/BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate product design and development for crushing equipment.
• Design and detail custom crushing equipment.
• Perform design analysis for components.
• Perform testing and prototyping of new products.
• Create drawings and BOMs with complete production information.
• Evaluate and implement design changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer specs.

Job Description

As a Design Engineer I at Superior Industries, you'll play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components for our projects. From concept to manufacturing, you will have the opportunity to contribute to all stages of the engineering process.

• Coordinate product design and development for crushing equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
• Design and detail custom crushing equipment
• Perform design analysis for components
• Perform testing and prototyping of new products
• Create drawings and bills of material that are accurate and contain all information required by production
• Evaluate and implement design changes
• Other duties as assigned
