Job summary

Superior Industries Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer in Morris, MN to coordinate product design and development for bulk material processing equipment.

You will design and detail conveying equipment, perform design analysis, create drawings, and manage bills of materials. Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree and have hands-on experience with SolidWorks, design standards, and power transmission concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Understanding drafting standards, dimensioning, tolerances.
• Knowledge of power relationships such as horsepower, torque, speed, ratios.
• Design and analysis of shaft, bearing and power transmission components.
• Strengths of materials and structural analysis.
• ASD steel design code.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates.
• Design and detail custom conveying equipment.
• Perform design analysis for components.
• Create detail drawings.
• Complete bills of material.
• Evaluate and implement design changes.

Job Description

A Design Engineer is responsible for completing the following duties:

• Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
• Design and detail custom conveying equipment
• Perform design analysis for components
• Create detail drawings
• Complete bills of material
• Evaluate and implement design changes
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation

• The starting pay range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 per year. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.

• Thorough understanding of:

  • ASD steel design code
• Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
