Job summary

Superior Industries is hiring a Design Engineer in Columbus, NE to drive the design and development of equipment used in bulk material processing. You will coordinate product design, create detailed drawings, perform analyses, and prepare bills of material to ensure manufacturability and adherence to engineering standards.

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering is required, with hands-on SolidWorks experience and strong problem-solving and teamwork skills valued by our

Job Description

A Design Engineer is responsible for completing the following duties:

• Coordinate product design and development for equipment used in processing bulk material and aggregates
• Design and detail custom conveying equipment
• Perform design analysis for components
• Create detail drawings
• Complete bills of material
• Evaluate and implement design changes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or related education
• Thorough understanding of:
  • Drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances
  • Mechanical power relationships such as horse power, torque, speed, ratios
  • Shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis
  • Strengths of materials and structural analysis
  • ASD steel design code
• Training and/or experience in using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
