Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Design Engineer I to help bring design-build and design-assist projects to life across healthcare, education, biotech, mission critical, commercial and entertainment markets. You will work with model coordinators, estimators, and field staff to create practical, efficient, and cost-effective designs.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree required.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC/plumbing systems.
• Ability to read mechanical/plumbing drawings.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, drawings and specifications for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Conduct basic heating/cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Coordinate design with project management, architects and trades through completion.
• Perform and review CAD drafting work.
