Job summary

Southland Industries invites students to join its Internship and New College Graduate program, a hands-on opportunity within a leading MEP building systems firm. You will work on design-build and design-assist projects across healthcare, education, biotech, and commercial markets, collaborating with model coordinators and estimators to produce practical, cost-effective designs.

You will gain experience in VDC and computational fluid dynamics, and receive mentorship through all project phases,

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of HVAC/plumbing systems design.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with CADD and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and specifications for HVAC systems under supervision.
• Compute loads, equipment sizing, and friction loss for projects.
• Coordinate design aspects with project management, architects, and trades through project completion.
• Perform and check CADD drafting work.
