Job Summary:

Our Chicago area client is seeking a Sr Product Designer to lead the design of complex features and initiatives for assigned product areas. The role involves collaborating with partners across business, product, and engineering to enhance the customer experience, utilizing frameworks, design tools, and user-centered methodologies. This can be a remote role. Local candidates may be considered for potential full-time employment.

Responsibilities:

1. Own the design of wireframes, storyboards, user flows, site maps, interactions, high-fidelity prototypes for medium to large features.
2. Collaborate with partners to maintain design and user experience quality, translating research insights into customer-driven experiences.
3. Leverage and contribute to the design system to ensure consistency and evolve UI patterns.
4. Communicate and sell design ideas to stakeholders, negotiating to meet both customer and business needs.
5. Ensure designs are informed by customer voice, research, technical constraints, and business needs.
6. Manage multiple design deliverables, communicating progress and challenges regularly.
7. Participate in user research to inform design evolution.
8. Proactively resolve issues to ensure quality of shipped experiences.
9. Promote and advocate for design thinking within your team.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in relevant field with at least 3 years of experience in designing large-scale digital experiences.
2. Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking from discovery to delivery.
3. Proficiency with prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe CC.
4. Experience with accessibility standards.
5. Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional, Agile environments.
6. Experience designing for web and mobile platforms.
7. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with design systems and cross-platform consistency.
2. Knowledge of product development and solving product challenges.
3. Use of data analytics and insights in design decision-making.
4. Advanced understanding of usability and user-centered design.
5. Experience iterating designs based on data and research.
