IKOS is the European leading consulting firm specialized in railway engineering.

We are committed to supporting the ecological transition and developing the safe, sustainable, and durable means of transportation of the future.

While over 80% of our business and unique expertise lies in the Railway sector, we are also expanding our presence in the Renewable Energy field!

As part of this strategic growth, we are currently looking for a Designer to join one of our major clients in the renewable energy sector, contributing to innovative and impactful projects.

Context:

To continue IKOS’s growth we are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer (who can work remotely) specializing in the creation and management of part definitions, assemblies, and modules. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in 2D drafting, 3D parametric modeling, and engineering data management systems to support various stages of product development, manufacturing, and inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop detailed part definitions, modules, and assemblies using 2D cross-sections, 3D solid models, and tolerance stack-ups.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert in drafting standards and 3D parametric modeling, mentoring less experienced colleagues and sharing best practices.
  3. Maintain and update engineering systems, including product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and other project-related databases.
  4. Apply deep technical knowledge and analytical skills to contribute to strategy execution and policy implementation.
  5. Exercise sound judgment in proposing alternative solutions for complex manufacturing challenges, especially those involving diverse processes or interdependent production cycles.
  6. Collaborate across teams and occasionally interface with external sources to inform design decisions.
  7. Facilitate knowledge sharing and team alignment by effectively communicating technical information and guiding team discussions.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree in engineering, design, or a closely related field.
  2. Minimum of 6 years of hands-on design and drafting experience within heavy industrial, thermal power, nuclear, or comparable industries.
  3. At least 5 years of experience with CAD software tools such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Vault, or similar platforms.
  4. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with strong communication skills.
