Job summary

The St. Johns River Water Management District is seeking a Professional Engineer to perform civil/water resource engineering design for the District's design services section. Depending on experience, some managerial responsibilities of technical/drafting staff may be included.

Responsibilities include developing work plans, preparing detailed designs, reviewing external design documents, and assisting in project planning and budgeting. Office-based with field visits as required.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (Florida) in civil or water resource/environmental engineering or the ability to obtain licensure in Florida within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develops workplans, monitors progress of assigned projects and provides assistance in moving projects towards completion.
• Prepares detailed design, including plans and specifications for District projects, and acts as engineer of record for complex projects.
• Reviews design documents and provides technical information to other agencies and consultants; communicates with District staff and external stakeholders.
