Job summary

Current Lighting Employee Co Llc in Greenville, SC, is seeking a Design Engineer to support maintenance, growth, and continuous improvement of a lighting product portfolio. You will collaborate with manufacturing, product management, quality, sourcing, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and business needs.

The role emphasizes profitability initiatives, technology updates, cost reduction, value engineering, and project execution support.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel.
  • 2+ years of related experience is preferred, and/or experience in lighting and lighting systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • 2D and 3D CAD experience is preferred.
  • SAP ERP system experience is preferred.
  • Altium/PCB Layout software experience preferred.
  • Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support initiatives to improve the profitability, performance, and market competitiveness of existing products for key account opportunities.
  • Support technology generational updates for electrical and mechanical subsystems across existing product families.
  • Drive technical solutions that improve product profitability through cost reduction, value engineering, and product expansion initiatives.
  • Provide technical support for project execution, customer inquiries, warranty investigations, quality initiatives, and technical service requests.
  • Execute project-related activities in accordance with the New Product Development (NPD) process.
  • Coordinate prototype builds, performance validation, and regulatory certification testing to ensure successful project execution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, testing laboratories, manufacturing teams, and customers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, design documentation, and 3D models to support product enhancements, sustaining engineering activities, and manufacturing requests.
  • Design printed circuit boards (PCBs) for lighting systems that meet performance, reliability, efficacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions related to product quality and field performance issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $60,000 - $75,000.
