Job summary

Esp Prosearch is seeking a Senior Product Engineer in Orlando, Florida to enhance their portfolio of LED lighting solutions. The role revolves around sustaining engineering and product lifecycle management, engaging in cross-functional collaboration across various departments.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, along with over 5 years of relevant experience. Advanced skills in SolidWorks and knowledge of lighting compliance standards will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, or related roles.
  • Understanding of commercial LED lighting systems, thermal management, and lighting performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of UL 1598, LM79, LM80, and lighting compliance standards.

  • Support sustaining engineering activities for existing commercial LED lighting products.

A growing manufacturer of specification-grade commercial LED lighting solutions is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to support and manage an established portfolio of lighting products. Serving customers across North America, the organization is known for its expertise in lighting engineering, product development, manufacturing, and advanced lighting control technologies.

This position will play a critical role in sustaining engineering, product lifecycle management, ERP data management, controls integration, technical support, compliance, and continuous product improvement efforts.

Working within the Product Engineering team, you will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products remain competitive, compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with customer and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support sustaining engineering activities for existing commercial LED lighting products.
  • Drive product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, component substitutions, and lifecycle management efforts.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, BOMs, and ERP product data.
  • Support product configurations, manufacturing documentation, and production readiness activities.
  • Participate in new product tollgate reviews, focusing on manufacturability, compliance, controls integration, and production handoff.
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Production teams.
  • Support integration, testing, and implementation of wired and wireless lighting control systems, including technologies such as Lutron, nLight, and Casambi.
  • Assist with UL, CSA, LM79, LM80, and other compliance and certification requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and components to support continuous product improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving, vendor collaboration, and engineering review activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, or related roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and strong GD&T knowledge.
  • Experience with fabricated metals, extrusions, castings, welding, plastics, and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of commercial LED lighting systems, thermal management, and lighting performance metrics.
  • Experience with interior and exterior lighting fixture design and IP-rated enclosure requirements.
  • Familiarity with lighting controls, including wired and wireless systems.
  • Knowledge of UL 1598, LM79, LM80, and lighting compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Revit, AGi32, or SolidWorks Composer.
  • Commercial, architectural, or specification-grade lighting industry experience.
  • ERP product management and product configuration experience.
