Design Within Reach, part of MillerKnoll, is hiring a Sales Assistant in a design-forward retail environment in Maryland. You’ll support day-to-day store operations, assist clients, and gain hands-on experience in sales support, customer service, inventory, and visual merchandising.

This entry role is ideal for someone early in their career who’s eager to learn and grow in a creative setting, reporting to the Assistant Manager and collaborating with sales and visual teams.

Qualifications

• Interest in design, retail, or customer service.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus.
• Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail; able to navigate websites.
• Willingness to learn systems like Salesforce and design software.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up.
• Help maintain the store’s visual presentation and product displays.
• Assist with inventory of marketing materials, swatches, and office supplies.
• Learn about products and design principles through training and team meetings.
• Communicate with clients via phone and email to provide helpful, friendly service.
