Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking a Sales Assistant to support daily store operations, assist clients, and help with merchandising. You will gain hands-on experience in sales support, customer service, inventory, and visual merchandising as a junior member of the team.

You'll report to the Assistant Manager and collaborate with sales and visual teams while learning products and design principles through training sessions.

Qualifications

• Interest in design, retail, or customer service.
• Previous retail or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable using Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Gmail, and navigating websites.
• Willingness to learn systems like Salesforce and design software.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with order processing, delivery coordination, and client follow-up.
• Help maintain the store’s visual presentation and product displays.
• Assist with inventory of marketing materials, swatches, and office supplies.
• Learn about products and design principles through training and team meetings.
• Communicate with clients via phone and email to provide helpful, friendly service.
