Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a full-time Healthcare Construction Project Manager. You will oversee multiple projects, coordinate with contractors and design consultants, and ensure safety, budget, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong leadership, CAD interpretation, and proficiency with project management tools; AHCA experience is preferred. On-site work in Hendersonville, with comprehensive benefits and career development

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree preferred in engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years progressive project management experience in healthcare construction.
  • Experience with AHCA or equivalent state construction requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates pre-construction activities with Contractors, Project Managers and Design Consultants, reviewing conditions, schedule and budget.
  • Manages multiple projects, coordinates and evaluates subcontractors, and conducts frequent site visits.
  • Coordinates OAC meetings to ensure information flow between OAC and Clinical/Operations staff.
  • Maintains organized project files and documents for audits and regulatory compliance; updates budget tracking forms.
  • Reads drawings and specifications; interfaces with contractors and hospital staff on policy, safety and changes during construction.
  • Manages transmittal, documentation and retention of plans, contracts and changes with hospital personnel.
  • Handles closeout and commissioning, including training, warranties, and contract compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:
  • Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork
  • Works closely with Contractors, Project Managers, Design Consultants or other professionals in their field to coordinate pre-construction activities. This includes review of existing conditions, schedule, budget and cost management during contracting phase.
  • Accurately manages multiple projects simultaneously. Coordinates, plans and evaluates the work of subcontractors on multiple jobs. Visits the job site frequently throughout the project life cycle.
  • Coordinates Owner, Architect and Contractor (OAC) meetings to provide sufficient information flow between OAC and Clinical / Operations staff.
  • Creates and maintains accurate, organized and complete project files to include all documents required to sustain internal, local, state, and federal regulatory compliance, to include preparation of materials for the purpose of internal and external audits. Maintains internal approval communications tools, project budget tracking forms and other documents related, updating throughout project life cycle.
  • Reads and interprets drawings and specifications. Interfaces with contractors and hospital staff to accomplish work following departmental policy on utility interruptions, traffic control, and safety including infection control and changes in original plan during construction.
  • Coordinates transmittal and documentation and retention of plans, contracts, construction change directives, and other related communications with hospital personnel, contractors, and architects.
  • Manages the close out and commissioning of the building to include OEM, staff training, as-built drawings, warranty escrow, and compliance with all contractual requirements of contractors and architects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Considerable knowledge of healthcare design and construction techniques including the knowledge of building codes and construction practices. [Required]
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize and evaluate the work of contractors. [Required]
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints [Required]
  • Leadership abilities with the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity [Required]
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills [Required]
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience [Required]
  • Proficient in e-Builder software program [Preferred]
  • Microsoft Project or similar project management program [Preferred]
Education:
  • Associate's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
  • in Engineering or related field
Work Experience:
  • 5+ years progressive responsible experience [Required]
  • 5+ years healthcare construction project management experience [Preferred]
  • Experience with Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA, or equivalent state agency) construction requirements [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Architecture License - Florida (ARCH) [Preferred]
  • General Contractor License (GENCON) [Preferred]
  • Certified Project Manager (CertPMP) [Preferred]
