Job summary

Fairbanks North Star Borough is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Engineer to oversee the design, construction, and modification of Borough facilities. You will lead civil, electrical, mechanical, architectural, and structural activities with emphasis on contract administration for multiple projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing designs, managing budgets and schedules, negotiating consultant contracts, and acting as the owner representative on sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/ECPD accredited college or a related field.
• Four years of project planning, design, and construction experience; two years PM.
• Experience with architectural/engineering contracts and consultant management.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager on Borough construction projects.
• Review project scopes with Architects/Engineers and client agencies.
• Negotiate and manage consultant contracts.
• Review designs and cost estimates; monitor budgets and schedules.
• Act as owner representative on construction sites and prepare engineering/architectural reports.
