Job summary

Stampede Ventures, Inc. in Fairbanks, AK is seeking a Project Manager to lead construction and civil projects for government and private sector clients.

You will develop schedules and budgets, manage safety programs, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure contract compliance with plans and specs. Responsibilities

  • Lead by example to manage projects per contract, policies, and core values.
  • Ensure compliance with plans, specs, quality control plans, and work plans.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, and safety programs with site teams.
  • Travel to job sites for site visits, pre-bid walks, and owner meetings.
  • Prepare plan documents for Government approval and maintain client communications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Ability to lead by example to ensure management of assigned projects by following corporate policies, procedures and core values
  • Ensure contract compliance with the plans and specifications, quality control plan, and work plans, for all internal crews and subcontractors.
  • Establish and maintain site quality control programs in compliance with client and corporate requirements, including supervision of the project quality control team.
  • Develop and manage schedules and budgets
  • Facilitate Modification Management processes, to include the development of cost proposals and submitting medication and requests for equitable adjustments to the client.
  • Manage the submittal process, to include the development of the submittal register and key submittals, RFIs, and the review and approval of submittals prepared by others
  • Assist the Safety Manager and Site Safety and Health Officer to establish a culture of safety on project sites
  • Review safety procedures and processes with Safety Manager and on-site Site Safety and Health Officers, including the development of Activity Hazard Analysis and corporate & agency safety reporting.
  • Comply with all OSHA and EM-385 requirements
  • Review Daily Reports and develop monthly project status reports
  • Conduct coordination meetings with subcontractors and clients
  • Track and document inspections, regularly audit quality control reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Assist with writing/reviewing/submitting plan documents for Government approval
  • Travel to job sites to conduct Pre-Bid Walk Throughs, Project Site Visits, Owner Meetings, and Inspections
  • Communicate with customers, subcontractors, and senior management to provide project updates
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or equivalent experience in a DoD Project Management Role
  • Level of Experience Requirements: Six Years’ Experience in Project Management
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License and Clean Driving Record
Required Certifications
  • Quality Management for Contractors Certification (USACE)
  • EM385-1-1 40-hour Certification
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite (Teams, Sharepoint, Word Excel)
  • Familiarity with Deltek applications (Costpoint, etc)
  • Competency in P6 Schedule Management Software
  • Current favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67

Preferred
  • CPR/1st Aid/AED certification
  • Infection control and industrial hygiene practices
  • AutoCad skills to complete record drawings, shop drawings, figures for value engineering documents.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Setting

The employee will work in a temperature-controlled office environment, as well as on construction job sites. Job sites may be outdoors, or indoors. During visits to construction job sites, the individual may be exposed to: extreme cold or hot weather conditions, hazardous noise, fall hazards, heights in excess of 10 feet, confined spaces, excavations, live traffic, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials, unexploded ordinance, and dimly lit areas.

Schedule and Flexibility: Core functions will be performed on a 5 day per week, 8 hours per day work schedule. Site visits and field work will require longer shifts depending on the project schedule and location.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
