Qualifications

• All Engineering Project Managers I–IV require strong engineering knowledge and professional licensure in engineering, architecture, or construction management.
• Experience coordinating capital improvement projects and managing diverse teams is preferred.
• Ability to review permits, contracts, and construction documentation with compliance to laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Applies contract management, architectural, and engineering principles to planning, design, and construction of major capital projects.
• Performs complex engineering work: analyzing, planning, designing, and implementing projects.
• Plans and directs R&D and design processes; collaborates in development efforts.
• Leads engineering presentations to boards and organizations.
• Serves as contract administrator or construction coordinator on major projects.
• Prepares schedules and monitors project status with Gantt charts.
• Manages outside consultants and contractors, ensuring adherence to contract specs.
• Prepares reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
• Prepares solicitations and contracts for consulting and construction services.
• Oversees construction management, testing, and compliance; manages procurement.
• Coordinates with government and private agencies on permitting.
• Negotiates property acquisitions, leases, and easements as needed.
• Monitors quality control reviews and bid package approvals.
• Coordinates public meetings at project milestones and tracks grants and budgets.
